Did you copy the Gw.exe file from the original Guild Wars directory to the duplicate map?
Copying the .dat file won't do anything, it's the Gw.exe file you need.
Otherwise I wouldn't know.

I'm having the same problems as u.
This gwx2 used to work fine, but since 1-2 weeks i'm experiencing problems.
Both .dat files are fully updated, i have copied the gw.exe file into a new map (2nd gw) with it's own .dat file (updated).
When i run gwx2 with administrator rights, i can see 2 games starting up and connecting, but when i need to log in only 1 game goes on ...
Like i said ... it used to work like this.

this exact same problem happens to me after just about every update. so make sure that both .dat files are the most recent and then do this:

In the sticky thread i found the solution.
U just have to copy the original gw.exe file into your 2nd gw file and replace the old .exe file.
Run your gwx2 again and you'll see it works fine.
It has nothing to do with the .dat files, only with the .exe file

This isn't completely true. I find it's much easier to do this:
1. (if you haven't already) make a copy of your gw shortcut, rename it "Guild Wars Update" or whatever.
2. Right click on that icon and add -image to the end of the command line so it says something like this: "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
3. Run that every time before you play, make that a habit. If it updates, continue with step 4.
4. Go to you Guld Wars directory (C:\Program Files\Guild Wars) and highlight both the Gw.dat and the Gw.exe files. Right click on them and select "copy".
5. Go to your secondary Guild Wars directory (I call mine: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars Too), right click, select Paste.
Wait for it to finish copying, might take anywhere between 2 min and 5 min or so, depends on comp speed. Then launch GWx2 and you should have no problems.
